E1AD3212 error in Symantec Backup Exec 7.01 on a Windows 2003 or 2000 server

Question/Problem:

After I installed or upgraded Symantec Backup Exec 7.01 I got problems when trying to create a backup job. The license key and everything is correct, and I am running Windows 2003 Server (with Active Directory and Exchange 2003). The error I get is this:

Error E1AD3212  You do not have sufficient privileges to perform this operation. See help for more information about security settings.

Any thoughts?

The answer/solution:

This error is caused by a buggy installation that became corrupt (you might have seen an error while installing the program). Go to program files, symantec folder and run fixinstall.bat in the backup exec folder.

After this the program should work.

If it does not, make sure Microsoft Framework 2.0 is correctly installed and updated, and repeat above steps.
